Parent/Carer Update – Tips for Home Schooling – Healthy Schools Banyule Newsletter

April 15, 2020 · News

Dear Parents/Carers and Teachers,

As many of you move to online learning for the start of Term 2 today, please find attached some tips and resources for you to circulate in your networks. We are all facing changes and challenges on the way our kids receive their education, so be kind to yourself and your child/ren and allow the time and space for the magic to happen. Although this will look different, be confident that in partnership with your school, you will be able to support and encourage your child/student to engage with school, their classmates and online learning.

We know you will be receiving information overload at the moment, so we have just included a few additional supports that you may find of interest:
• Preparing for Remote Learning https://schooltv.me/wellbeing_news/special-report-preparing-homeschooling
• Australian Office of the eSafety Commissioner https://www.esafety.gov.au/key-issues/covid-19
• Victorian Education Department: https://www.education.vic.gov.au/parents/learning/Pages/home-learning.aspx

Thank you for everything you are doing, your support and ongoing understanding in these unprecedented times. It is highly valued by students, parents, carers and teachers.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us on 9450 2000 if there is anything we can help with – if we can’t answer your queries, we will find someone who can.

We’re all in this together.
