There are many different volunteering roles at 3081 Angels either onsite (Fridays and every second Wednesday 9.30am-12.30pm) or from your home.
We ask that volunteers commit to regular attendance. This doesn’t mean you have to come every week but might commit to every second Friday for example. Due to space limitations and OH&S issues, we cannot have toddlers with parents during working sessions. We are a happy, welcoming group of people who are passionate about improving the welfare of local children.
All volunteers must be willing to obtain a Police Check and Working with Children Check.
Volunteer Roles include
Donations processing, sorting and packing
Equipment checking and cleaning
Presenting donated prams, cots, car seats, highchairs and bassinets like new gifts for new families
Sorting books and delivering them to waiting rooms and collection points where children can take them home
We are currently looking for volunteers in the following areas:
While we ask that goods be washed prior to donation, often we receive items that require a quick refresh. If you have a big laundry and room on your clothes line we can always have washing ready to be picked up.
We also collect large items when people would like to donate but do not have access to a suitable car. We have a vehicle available for use or drivers are welcome to use their own car if they prefer.
We also at times purchase larger items such as the correct sized cot mattress when our stocks are depleted. We also need people searching for free and low costs prams, and nursery equipment on e-bay, Buy, Swap and Sell sites etc . This task can be done from home.
Assisting with promoting requests for goods, relevant community and safety information and acknowledgment of donations/assistance received.
Keeps the Angels informed about current and emerging safety issues and recalls of equipment.
Help us seek support from local granting agencies and businesses. We need your fundraising and relationship building skills!
Keep tubs of books well stocked for children to take home from local waiting rooms and collection points (No qualifications necessary).
Assist with providing new, age appropriate books for Banyule Childrens Gift Appeal at Christmas.
From July 2019, participate in a bulk cooking program, alongside parents wanting to learn to cook family meals.
