West Heidelberg Community Legal’s clients and the community are set to benefit!

West Heidelberg Community Legal’s clients and the community are set to benefit from a $1m grant from the Victorian Legal Services Board (VLSB) to grow our support!
This generous funding will help us better understand the community’s needs and challenges so we can improve how we work and the organisations we partner with. This funding will help us and the other Community Legal Centres who also received funding, to assist more individuals in need.
West Heidelberg Community Legal offers a range of free services, including legal advice, casework, information, education, and referrals. Currently, our primary focus is supporting residents of Banyule. However, if we can, we may also assist residents of Nillumbik. If we are unable to help, we will work to connect individuals with the right service.
“I look forward to seeing the far-reaching outcomes delivered by all our successful grantees as they work tirelessly to improve access to justice for Victorians,” said VLSB Chief Executive Officer and Commissioner Fiona McLeay.
This funding boost is a step toward ensuring that more local residents can get the legal help they need to support their whole lives – physical, mental, and social.
