The Getting Even Group

Getting Even is an 8 week education and peer support program for people struggling to stop/control their gambling.

“We can actually come here and talk about it, without feeling judged by anyone

The program is designed and facilitated by two people with personal experience of gambling harm and recovery.

Topics include:

  • Managing urges and triggers
  • Relapse prevention
  • Understanding the cycle of change
  • Practical strategies to make changes and self-care.

Participants also have the opportunity to share their own experiences of gambling harm in a safe, non-judgemental and supportive peer support environment.

About the Facilitators: Both our Getting Even facilitators have diverse experience in the gambling support services sector, group work, mentoring and public speaking through the ReSPIN program. They bring their own experiences of gambling harm and recovery and offer a non-judgemental and nurturing space to support growth and change.

Tuesdays, 6.30pm – 8.30pm at West Heidelberg. No cost.
