Gambler's Help Northern

Responsible Gambling Awareness Week

Responsible Gambling Awareness Week 14 – 20 May 2012
“Acting on Gambling”

A youth community theatre project to raise awareness about the social harms of gambling. A Responsible Gambling Initiative of
Darebin City Council; Moreland City Council and Gamblers Help Northern

Gamblers Help Northern is partnering with Darebin City Council and Moreland City Council to deliver the Acting on Gambling theatre project which seeks to engage students in the municipalities of Moreland and Darebin in a series of stimulating theatre workshops that explore issues around gambling. A final theatre performance will be presented at the end of the project using the forum theatre method.

The purpose of Acting on Gambling is to promote responsible gambling messages and raise awareness about where to seek help for young people in the inner-northern metropolitan area of Melbourne. The project will use interactive community theatre methods to promote the Responsible Gambling Awareness Week’s (RGAW) core themes around knowledge, balance and control in a way that will be engaging for young adults in this area of Melbourne.
